Teachers hold the future in their hands, and now, teachers need support more than ever. At MCS, we specialize in services tailored to the unique needs of teachers and school communities.
Teaching during a pandemic was a constantly evolving mountain to climb. Teaching after a pandemic also poses new challenges. Social structures and support shifted during the pandemic and we are all striving to get back to the feeling of regularity we once had. Social support and self-care practice can decrease burn out, increase feelings of efficacy, and even improve immune functioning. Teacher support groups facilitated by licensed clinicians bring educators together in a safe space to increase feelings of connection, allow teachers to seek support from colleagues, share strategies for teaching in this new environment, and plan for the self-care that teachers so frequently place on the back burner. By decreasing feelings of isolation and helping to manage stress, support groups help to ensure the teachers can continue to guide our children and our communities towards success.
Administrators support the entire school community. Transforming that support to meet the needs of our time is essential. Our consultation for organizational behavior management solutions for your faculty, parents, and students will help identify ways to strengthen your school and address current challenges. Participate in administrator support groups with individuals in similar leadership positions to learn ways to support yourself and your team effectively and help your school community thrive during these challenging times. Implement our Caring Community program to ensure your leadership team, your teachers, your parents, and your students are wrapped in layers of support.
The long-term stress associated with the pandemic and its aftermath continues to impact our learning communities. Learning loss, increased anxiety and mental health needs in young children, and increased stress in adults still impact our daily lives. Supporting the social emotional and mental health needs of students, parents, and teachers during this time is necessary to ensure that we move forward together in building resiliency with strength and compassion. School-wide, class-wide, and individual support options are available to ensure that the entire school community learns effective ways to cope, care for themselves, and support each other in our changing world.
Children with special needs may have difficulty adjusting to changes taking place in learning environments, and may have impacts from recent stressors that are expressed in different ways. By using innovative, individualized supports unique to each child's needs, consistent implementation of IEP services can be achieved in a way that supports both students and teachers. Students without IEPs who have particular challenges unique to the changing world in which we live (e.g. challenges with emotional regulation, increased anxiety, etc.), also need support. Student care plans specific to these needs ensure learning can happen effectively and that no one is left behind, left out, or left feeling that no one understands their needs.
